Musical Fidelity M6x DAC

M3x DAC brings quality Musical Fidelity a wide range of enthusiasts. Its price “entry level” should not make you think of renunce, the new M3x DAC is to be considered very close to a Hi-End converter.
Thanks to the careful design of both the circuit layout, the supply sections and the construction quality of the frame, the new M3x DAC stands at the top of the modern DAC converters.

Technical
The M3x DAC project was developed around the excellent Burr Brown SRC4392 up-sampling chip (surplus sampling), in charge of re-clocking all PCM signals and convert them to 24bit/192kHz. The up-sampling made in this sophisticated configuration allows you to reach low distortion levels and maintain high quality of digital reproduction. The DAC PCM1795 is able to manage the PCM flows up to 24bit/192kHz and native DSD and DSD up to DSD256. DSD files are not over leagues but reproduced in their original format. Both the balanced RCA and XLR outputs have their own output buffer, for best separation, audio quality and low noise. Moreover the voltage and output current are greater, as well as the bandwidth, with fast transients and exceptionally low distortion.

Transformer “super silent”
The study and search of the perfect transformer “super silent” we find it also in Musical Fidelity M3x DAC. From the industrial-type power outlet with EMI filter and DC block, which blocks interference and eliminates the buzz of the transformer. The transformer is a toroidal with low core saturation, ideal for audio applications and especially for digital audio thanks to its extremely reduced electromagnetic radiation.

Perfect design and layout of printed circuit boards
The digital/analog converter, compared to integrated amplifiers for example, has its own design challenges. They work differently, they have their own requirements and must be treated accordingly. The power requirements are unique and the design solutions of integrated amplifiers will not give the same results if combined with digital circuits. Musical Fidelity has always considered that the design and layout of the printed circuit boards comply with the highest standards. The project and layout must be customized for each application, present good measurements and play as expected. The listener, in his home environment, must be able to appreciate the airyness of the recording site and place the instruments perfectly in space.

The sound of the frame
Musical Fidelity it leaves nothing to chance and also the mechanical construction of the frame must subject to numerous standards. Rigidity and solidity without compromise. The front panel is obtained from an extruded aluminium profile, rigidly anchored to the steel frame, this to protect the DAC from external electromagnetic fields and, in the same way, the rest of the HiFi system from electromagnetic fields generated by the M3x DAC.
