Connecting both wired and wireless
Most audio enthusiasts, position the subwoofer away from the main electronics, and usually the connection provides a signal cable long enough, difficult to conceal and for this can be unsighted.
The SUB80P subwoofer directly receives the signal from the supplied transmitter module, via wireless technology, so you can place the subwoofer anywhere in the room without having to pass an audio cable. For those who place the subwoofer near the hifi system, or prefer not to use the wireless solution, it can continue to connect it in a traditional way with the cable.
Further feature quite exclusive to the SUB80P is to connect the subwoofer with both wireless and wired solutions, and use it with two different sources, making sure to turn on one at a time.

Phase control
A very important parameter, and often neglected, is the subwoofer phase. Depending on its position in the environment and on the basis of the interface with satellite speakers, the subwoofer could be out of phase, with low frequencies or in some cases almost canceled, reducing performance and sound impact. When the subwoofer is properly in phase, the satellite audio will be clearer and you will have the maximum sound impact in the low frequencies. The phase switch serves precisely for this purpose, determines the movement forward or backward of the woofer cone in the presence of the signal. The best way to understand if the phase is correct is to listen to a track that you know well and try to move the phase switch to the position where the low frequencies are most present.

Woofer from 20cm with floor emission
The SUB80P has a 20cm woofer that emits to the floor, driven by a 200 watt power amplifier, able to offer low-frequency performance without compromises, dynamics and speeds that make the film soundtrack and music an unmistakable experience.

Input for external triggers
As with the connection of the signal, the powering and shutdown of the subwoofer are important, and if the subwoofer is placed away from the electronics or in an uncomfortable way, this procedure will be complicated.
JBL SUB80P automatically switches on if you receive an activation voltage on the external Trigger connector and switch to Standby mode when this voltage is less. The LFE signal cable is provided with the subwoofer and the trigger cable is integrated. Each time the subwoofer detects an input trigger signal, with voltage between 3V and 30V (AC or DC), it turns on. While it will turn off in standby mode after the stop of the trigger signal, with the power switch in "Auto" position.
