Arcam AVR5

Arcam AVR5, AV synthesizer that decodes up to 12 channels in Dolby Atmos (with upmixing from Dolby Surround) and DTS:X (with upmixing from DTS:Neural:X) and is compatible with 4K HDR10 and Dolby Vision video signals, as well as support AirPlay2, Bluetooth aptX HD, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, MQA Roon.

Inside the AVR5 there are two ESS ES9026PRO DACs, the same on board the most expensive AVR30. We also find seven 85W AB class amplification channels, driven by a custom designed linear power supply that can support 1.5 KW of total energy consumption. Who needs all 12 channels in a setup 7.1.4, for example, it will have to add a separate power amplifier.

There is also eARC support for audioless loss, while HDMI 2.1 support requires an update. However, this upgrade must be performed in an authorized Arcam service center.

The updated Harman MusicLife UPnP App also allows AVR5 playback and control through Android and iOS devices, as well as providing access to Internet radio, music streaming and podcasts. Arcam ARV5 also supports Roon, allowing subscribers to access Qobuz, TIDAL, network libraries and leverage multi-room audio.

Finally, Arcam AVR5 also supports Dirac Live, the professional level environmental correction system. This requires downloading the Dirac optimization tool for Mac or PC and purchasing a license.
